Dr. Kawanna Ward is the esteemed CEO and Senior Clinical Director of Providence Psychological Services, Inc., where she offers professional clinical outpatient mental health services catering to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Holding licenses as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Sexual Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP), and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Dr. Ward brings a wealth of expertise to her practice.
Additionally, she is a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) affiliated with the Association for Play Therapy, showcasing her dedication to specialized therapeutic approaches. Dr. Ward is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), demonstrating her commitment to staying at the forefront of evidence-based treatments.
Dr. Ward earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology/Criminal Justice from Norfolk State University, her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University, and her Doctor of Christian Counseling (DCC) from Christian Leadership University.
